Modify Form Direction

Used to change the default direction of form extrusion. These settings are global settings and, except for steel section forms, apply to all forms placed using form placement commands.

Accessed from:
  • Ribbon: Building Design > Placement walls contextual tab > Place > Placement Options > OffsetTilt

Create offset for wall placement, leave dialog open to activate offsets.
SettingDescription
// (Parallel Offset) If on, enables control of offset distance and direction of parallel offset to the original location.
Note: This setting does not apply to slab forms or free forms.
Parallel Offset option menu Sets the offset to a particular side of the original form’s location:
  • Right — Sets the placement mode as parallel to the right side.
  • Left — Sets the placement mode as parallel to the left side.
Placement Offset X, Y, Z Places a form at a different position than its current location, offset by the values in the X, Y, and/or Z fields.

Each X, Y, and Z placement offset value represents the difference in coordinates between two points.

  • Z — Sets the Z axis distance between the elevation of the active floor and the elevation of the item being placed (usually the bottom surface). Base Offset can be a negative value. Base Offset works relative to the active floor elevation at time of placement. During instances when the ACS Plane and ACS Plane Snap locks are turned off, Base Offset is relative to the Active Depth.
Define Defines the placement offset direction by placing two data points.
Extrusion Direction X, Y, Z Defines/redefines the sweep direction of a form. The sweep direction is a vector (X, Y, Z in the global coordinate system) used to sweep the base shape of the form. During placement when Extrusion Direction is off or when all values are 0, the sweep direction is perpendicular to the X/Y plane.
Define Defines the extrusion direction by placing two data points.
